I was just thinking about how badly out of control Pompey could spiral here if they go down. I may be right in thinking they have a transfer ban on. Their players haven't been paid lately. They're only a smallish club with limited support. If and when they go down is there any way back for them? I don't think they could get back to the Premiership and I can see them going down the division's rapidly. I don't want them to fold but I could actually see them being the first team in a long time to completely go belly up.

Probably a bit early to be making such drastic predictions about any team considering it's not even x-mas yet. With Grant at the helm I actually think they will still offer plenty of fight this season. Enough to stay up though? I dunno.

I was really contemplating what would happen to them if they do go down rather than whether or not they would. They have an outside chance of survival this year but I think the consequences of relegation for them would be much worse than for anyone else.

See Bullard is out for two months with a knee injury for Hull City. He has made a huge difference to their fortunes since returning. Hopefully we can put Pompey and Hull down as lost causes, that just leaves one place in the bottom three.
