Sorry for not getting this up sooner. I've had a busy easter weekend. I've only just watched the game myself.

Good point. And the performance came of age for me. Started poorly but ground our way back into it well. Sears Ashton partnership has huge potential.

Ill just repost what i've already said

After the first half i was dreadfully depressed, i thought we were screwed (With the exception of some bright spots with ashton) :'(

I suggested to josh at HT sears on for lbm, and my god what a change. Despite being a bit shakey at the back, We were FANTASTIC! I Was enjoying it that much if everton had scored a winner at the end i wouldn't have cared, THATS how much i was liking that game.

Sears is what weve been missing in bellamny all year. A Genuinely fast striker who can run onto flick ons. he was so unlucky not to get that goal. I actually thought it was gonna trickle well wide and it hit the post!

Then Nobles beautiful play just before it, with the flick back from solano, inches wide!

I think tomkins needs to learn to play a bit better but on debut marking yakubu he did fairly well. For the everton goal i thought yakubu was backing into him before running through and scoring, but oh well.

1st half dull and getting dominated. 2nd half change to 4-4-2 and we wreaked havoc once we ditched LBM. I hope we start with what we had on in the 2nd half against sunderland next week (with the possible reintroduction of Upson).

Also i'd like to not concede within 20 minutes. Thats a nasty little habit we're developing.

I Said it before and i say it again, that was some of the most fun i've had watching WH in a long while. Wondeful attacking football and i hope it continues.

COME ON YOU IRONS!

I've just watched it too.
I thought it was an exciting game.
Sears has to play regularly and replace the hapless LBM. His partnership with Deano looked very promising
Dare I say it, Lucas had a good game!
Good point against a good side
Pretty happy

I'd take a point away from home any day - especially from a team who has already fucked us over twice this season.

Ashton - Sears What a combination.

Deano has finally found his hunger and Sears reminds me of Michael Owen.

Not a bad performance. Great to get a point out of a trip to Goodison.

I said this in the other thread but i'll post it again here.

I thought it was a great game to watch. I think a draw was a fair result for both teams.

Tomkins did very well on debut, nearly scoring after 5 minutes. He was unlucky when Yakubu scored but he recovered well and did a good job of pissing me off by keeping him closed down Laughing

I think the only gripe I had with the match is that the referee tended to play advantage, which started out good but got a bit annoying towards the end there.

All in all an enjoyable game.

Thought we played some good stuff.

Baptism of fire for Tomkins who was too close to Yakubu for the goal but he'll learn from that and over all I thought he did quite well.

Freddie Sears, fuck me how does he influence the mood of the side. That's two weeks on the bounce now he's come on and completely changed the way we are playing. You could see us lift, no doubt about it. Proud as punch with these two young blokes.

In an age of 30mill squid transfers how refreshing is it to see a couple of local lads not only running about but looking well suited to the PL. What with these lads, Noble and Anton, not many PL clubs would have 4 young blokes running about in their side from their academy. Tony Carr, what a legend!

Anyway, thought Noble was the pick of the bunch in midfield and Ashton is back.! Fucken halleujah!! Was getting real worried about Deano, but he's chasing lost causes, getting involved and starting to look the player we all knew he could be. Although he did have a bad miss but more than made up for it with a cracking header for the goal, under heaps of pressure from the CB, delivered by a good ball from NM mate. Wink

All played their part in what was a solid performance against a very good side. Gotta be happy with a point at Goodison. On the balance of it, it was a fair result IMO. They had a goal disallowed, 'thanks very much ref', and we hit the woodwork twice, so it evened itself out for mine.

Spot on Jen, concedeing goals early is not good, a clean sheet would be nice as well. You're also right about missing a quick striker for Ashton to feed. We've missed Bellars/Ashton up front big time. Interesting point with the Sears/Ashton combination. Do you play him up front with Ashton from the off and see how it goes for the 90 or bring him on as an impact player which has obviously been working a treat? I'd tend to go with Jen on this one, give the lad a full debut, he's earned it.

Agreed. Got turned a few times but not bad for debut. Quite quick which is good. Interesting to see him with Upson.

Entertaining game without a glut of opportunities. Thought Ashton, Neill (uh oh), Parker, Ljungberg all played well with Green and Noble having top games.

Depends on fitness for who plays in starting line-up next week. Barring injuries, would probably like to Z-man and Ashton up front with Sears coming off the bench.

Zamora wasn't even on the bench for this game? Is he injured again?

Painkillers! nasty. So if Zamoras not fit Davros, do you play Sears from the off or bring him on as a sub?
