| Was having a butchers on the ozspurs web page to see if there was any banter about playing us this weekend. Anyway I noticed a thread which discusses their annual convention? It seems that they all get together once a year, fly in from all over! Fuck me thay are organised. Does sound like a good long weekend mind. Oh and there was only one comment about the meet at the pig this weekend.

It would be a great weekend to try and organize,(no we aint putting our hands up to do it ). It really would be a great weekend and with cheap airfares wouldnt be massively expensive, accom would be the hardest to sort.Right whos up for it at least in principle to start with anyway.

Looks like it's me, Chris and Paul then!
In all seriousness, it would be good but we need a much bigger network of supporters than we have at the moment for it to work. We've got 60 something registered members and the yido's have 1260! Still a way to go really. Also from what I can gather they've got only the one site in Oz so they can communicate with each other through the sinlge medium where as, to the best of our knowlegde, we've this one and ozhammers with makes us a little disjointed. I mean I never look at the ozhammer web page and I'm sure those who look at the ozhammers page don't look at ours. Be something to think about in the future though.

We have the numbers but we're disjointed.
It's something being worked on for the future.
Also I tried to organise a trip down the gold coast but only me and NM showed up

Trip down the gold coast?
Maybe we you should talk to DPL or something. I think he mentioned it his email once. I'm not too sure. _________________

Private Joke. Beggers was gonna meet us but a work trip came up - I was just poking fun at him.
I've spoken alot with DPL. There's been a couple of things suggested.

| The numbers are out there we just have to find the best way to reach them all Brissy,Adel and Sydney are all sorted and have quite good followings,(perhaps not to the meetups but am in cantact with quite a few Adel Hammers).Would be interesting to see how Dave Lewis felt about the idea and the numbers that he has.The time has to come (hopefully soon)where all Hammers fans are talking on one site as those SPURTS wankers have done.F**K if they can do it we should be able to do it.Lets give it some serious thought aye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've read ( i think on KUMB) that some of people dont like going to the Hakoa (sp?) club, or wherever DPL normally sets it up.
When i was in sydney in april i was gonna head down there, cos bondi's not far from my dad's house, and watch the Sheffield united game there (3-0 loss) but got really sick so couldn't.
Anyway way back in the thread Paul said only problem with a con would be accomadation. For me though as long as it was in Sydney or Brisbane i wouldnt have many problems
I kinda like this idea now _________________

Dave & DPL (and a few others) have been having discussions about better integration and national membership etc.
It's bubbling away behind the scenes (no pun intended ) _________________ www.whu-au.com

Yeah I think Paul's been involved in some of the emails from DPL.
With regards to your comments Paul I think it all sounds good in principle but I think we're a couple of years behind the Ozspurs in terms of this kind of integration. Also I think alot of our fan base is pretty inactive. Peter in Perth tells me he get's little reaction from his mailing list and I think their events have all but stopped. Of the 100 odd brisbane guys I email on a regular basis only a limited number ever reply. You know yourself how hard it is to get your Adelaide boys out regularly.
Sydney have issues organising events during daylight saving.
So all these complications and others make organising an ozwide event difficult but it is possible that once we have a formalised structure in place we may be able to do things similar in a couple of years.

Thats it Dave i realise that its not going to happen overnight but would really like to see us maybe to be able to push on to make it happen, this is of course when the time is right.
As to Dave Lewis im not sure whats going on there i havent had an email or spoken to him in months. Will have to send him an email and find out whats happening.
I do know that he was very keen to try and get all the forums basically into one so that everyone was communicating on the same level, but you are right Dave that it is just so hard to get evryone motivated to make it happen.
Maybe one day in the future.

They? You mean DPL.
He's said that to me before now but I reckon it is somewhat overstated to be honest. There are alot of emails though but I don't think too many respond.
