I need to get out and start playing again (nearly 2 years since I last played), Brisbane seems to have the right climate so where's best to go and whats membership like?

Handicap 24

We are looking to move to Wellington Point/Alexander Hills/Birkdale areas.

Birkdale is a public course and a goat track..

Wynnum is a decent course and not very long and close by.. Probably a good one for a 24 handicapper if your looking to join somewhere..

Redland Bay is also not a bad course and isn't to far away.

A bit further away after that is Riverlakes and Carbrook.. Both decent courses as well..

Yell out if your after someone to have a game with !!

I don't know the courses in that area too well but Sir Trev seems to have that covered.

If just looking to play some courses, St Lucia and Victoria Park are the 2 public courses in Brissie. Both bit hilly. North side courses I know most about but probably too far from where you will be. But if looking for a nice course this side, Keperra is good. North Lakes for a challenge plus bit more expensive.

Yes Keperra is nice, haven't played Northlakes, always something on so i can't make it, this year the Hammers were on the night before and i chose to stay up all night watching the football and passed on Northlakes... It was the day after the 2nd Chelsea game, i was seriously questioning my decision 20 minutes into that game...

How long since you played Birkdale/Howeston Trev? It is one of the best value courses about and for what it costs it is very decent imho.

Brisbane has lots of options and green fees tend to range these days from $25-$35 unless you play at one of the swanky courses like North Lakes or down the Gold Coast somewhere.

Annual memberships run $700-$1250, most have a joining fee on top of that.

I play a lot and will have a game with you any time (when you get here).

I'm the secretary for the social golf club at work and we have a lot of outsiders as members. www.landsgolf.blogspot.com $50 a year includes a polo shirt, $25 for each game. Prizes are modest but it's a cheap way of playing in comps..pretty laid back, drink piss during the game etc. Only trouble is games are mid week thursday and friday arvos mainly. No weekend games.

To be honest it's a lot of years since i have been to Birkdale. We tend to avoid Birkdale, St Lucia, Ashgrove and the like.. It would have wanted to improved in a big way to rate.
